Wednesday July 1st 7pm (doors open at 6.45)
David Tootill set up Southbank Mosaics art studio 12 years ago as a volunteer. It now employs six people and has over 250 public realm installations. It partners with community groups and is now working towards setting up the London School of Mosaic, offering the first applied degree course in mosaic studies.
David will recount the history of an organisation whose key aim is to “make my neighbourhood more attractive and keep people out of prison” and will present examples of its work.
This talk is jointly organised by Friends of Tate South Lambeth Library and the Vauxhall Society.
