In post war Britain people were “all in it together” and vowed never again to return to the    miserable conditions that the working classes endured in the 30s.

The aim was to ensure social security, a National Health Service, free education, council housing and full employment to conquer poverty, disease and ill health.

What has changed since then? Why and how?

‘Loach movingly argues that we should look to the past for  a better future’
